Ahmed Hafez

Ahmed is currently VP Group Technology Strategy, Deutsche Telekom, with responsibility for end-to-end network strategy across the Deutsche Telekom Group, as well as leading special projects on products and service production based on converged "network and security”. Ahmed has >23 years of experience in the telecommunication industry, at local network operator level and in global group functions at leading global operators, in activities spanning mobile and fixed network domains. He has held multiple positions, focused mostly on strategy, network architecture, solution design, technology Investments prioritization and creation of network related security products. He has also extensive experience in investments management & control, supporting different operating companies to maximize return on technology investments. Ahmed is obsessed with customer value and prioritizes working closely with business units to create new services and products. He believes that having a good strategy and outstanding execution is key for successful companies. Ahmed received a Bachelor of Communications and Electronics from Cairo University in 2000 and obtained an MBA from Heinrich-Heine university in Germany, completing his thesis in 2011 on mobile network spectrum choice and economics.
