Timotheus Höttges, born in 1962, citizenship German, is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Deutsche Telekom AG since January 2014. From 2009 until his appointment as CEO, he has been member of the Group Board of Management responsible for Finance and Controlling. From 2006 to 2009 he was member of the Board of Management responsible for the T-Home unit. Under his leadership, T-Home became the market leader in terms of new DSL customers and developed its Internet TV service, Entertain, into a mass-market product while at the same time stabilizing its profitability.

Dominique Leroy, born in 1964, citizenship Belgian, joined the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom Group on November 1, 2020. Dominique Leroy has over 30 years of experience in the consumer goods and telecommunication sector. She started her career at Unilever where her last position was Managing Director for Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2011 she joined Proximus where she quickly became Head of the Consumer Market and held the position of CEO from 2014 till 2019. During this time, she managed to turn around the company with a continuous growth phase and a strong customer experience focus.

Claudia Nemat is talking to Shoshana about what surveillance capitalism really means, which prinicipals lay behind it, how companies turn personal experiences into behavioral data that become a private property of companies and how we need to set the rules, constraints and guiding rails to protect us.

Scholar, writer, and activist Shoshana Zuboff is the author of three major books, each of which signaled the start of a new epoch in technological society. Her recent masterwork, The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, already translated into twenty-five languages, has been hailed as the tech industry’s Silent Spring and the Das Kapital of the 21st Century. Professor Zuboff is the Charles Edward Wilson Professor Emerita at Harvard Business School and a faculty associate at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Carr Center for Human Rights.

Melanie Kubin-Hardewig is Vice President, Group Sustainability Management at Deutsche Telekom. In her role she is responsible for a wide range of sustainability topics from environmental to social aspects, including sustainable supply chains and finance as well as the development of DT’s targets and KPIs. She is also helming DT’s #greenmagenta initiative. Melanie has previously held various management roles at different entities of Deutsche Telekom. She is a trained lawyer and holds an MBA.

Donya Amer is CEO at Bosch Climate Solutions. Having joined Bosch in 2017, she was responsible for the internal business interface as part of the Bosch IT management team before taking over as CEO of the Bosch Climate Solutions start-up in 2020. After earning a degree in business administration, Donya started her career with IBM in Frankfurt. In her 17 years with the company, she held customer-facing and consulting-related positions in various areas of business.
