Exploring next-use scenarios in industry, medicine, and gaming, the current biggest issue is latency. DT has the best network to provide all means to enable such use cases - MEC, network slicing, 5G radio. Together with Dresden-based MIMETIK, we are working on negative latency. MIMETIK is well-suited to application within industrial, medical and end-user environments, enabling co-habitation and collaboration between humans and robots, remote and precision surgery, and real-time interaction within virtual reality with the program running in the mobile edge cloud of network operators.

Prof. Frank H. P.  Fitzek is professor and head of the “Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks” at TU Dresden, coordinating the 5G Lab Germany. He is spokesman of the CeTI Cluster of Excellence of the DFG. In 2015 he received an honorary doctorate from Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE). His current research interests are in the areas of 5G communication networks, network coding, cloud computing, compressed sensing, and cooperative networking
